WATCH: Roy Keane’s gives expected response when asked about relationship with his wife

Roy Keane was in classic form last night when discussing Covid-19 isolating issues that have cropped up in the England Euro 2020 camp.

It was revealed yesterday that England pair Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell were going to miss the group decider against the Czech Republic after they were deemed to be close contacts of Scotland’s Billy Gilmour. The Chelsea trio are reported to have spent 20 minutes chatting in the tunnel after the England and Scotland game on Friday and since then, Gilmour has been confirmed to have contracted Covid-19.

Naturally, Keano was baffled as to why opposition players felt the need to have a chinwag in the first place. Speaking ahead of last night’s game, he said that “the only thing I’d be critical of is why would you want to speak an opposition player, I don’t care if it’s your team mate or not, for 20 minutes? I very rarely speak to anybody for over five minutes.”

A lot of viewers were able to relate to that sentiment, let’s be honest. When pressed on whether his wife gets any special dispensation, Roy responded “never,” with the usual glint in his eye, of course.
