There are a few things for which summer 2019 will be remembered. For one, Limerick man Greg O’Shea winning £50,000 for appearing on TV for two weeks. The end of May saw the end of May as Theresa resigned as British Prime Minister. We also witnessed the United States women’s football team steamroll everyone, including Donald Trump, on their way to winning the World Cup in July.
Perhaps most surprisingly, all of this was played out to the backdrop of a country rap song by one Montero Lamar Hill. The rapper, better known as Lil Nas X, originally released Old Town Road in December 2018 but as the months have passed, its relentless assault on the charts (as well as our eardrums) has shown no signs of abating.
One man who certainly doesn’t seem to have gotten sick of it yet is Irish rugby star Simon Zebo. A video posted by his current club, French Top 14 side Racing 92, shows The Zeebs having the absolute craic during a team dinner. In the clip, Zebo and teammate Sam Hidalgo-Clyne perform a duet of the hit tune and judging by the former Munster man’s excited dance moves, he’s having the absolute time of his life.
