Wherever Donald Trump goes, the cameras follow and yesterday they followed him to Shannon Airport where the U.S President was greeted by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
Before Donald flew off to Doonbeg, the two leaders sat down to answer questions from Irish and international reporters. Naturally, everything was picked up by the late-night TV circuit over in America and Stephen Colbert, in particular, had plenty of fun on his show last night.
The host mocked Trump for claiming that he knew most of the Irish diaspora in the States as well as the fact that the pair held their meeting in the VIP section of Shannon Airport. For his part, Varadkar was referred to as the 'Celtic Popeye' on account of a well-timed photograph in which he is apparently grimacing.
With the President staying in Doonbeg for another couple of nights, there's bound to be plenty more fodder in the coming days. Check out the video in full below with the Ireland material coming near the start.
