One Cork young lad is celebrating a momentous occasion at the minute, having just heard his first radio advertisement on the airwaves. Managing to catch the moment on his camera, his mam Nicola Radley later shared the video on Twitter and his reaction is brilliant.
Featuring in a Christmas promotion for the Castlewest Shopping Centre in Ballincollig, Jack and his sister Emily both lent their voices to the advert. Clearly a little stunned at hearing his own voice on radio for the first time – all Jack can manage to say is: “Oh my God, no way”.
The absolute excitement at hearing yourselves on a radio ad for the first time ! What a start to the week ! 🎄🎅🙈🥰#ARealCorkChristmas @pure_cork #PureLocal #ChristmasInCork @CorksRedFM @rayfoleyshow @ScoilBarra @bcollignews pic.twitter.com/nBWzSNgsM7

Telling Lovin how the whole thing came to be, Nicola said:
“Jack and Emily – my 2 kids – were both in the ad. It’s to promote Castlewest Shopping Centre in Ballincollig for Christmas. My husband is the Centre manager there.
“He was chatting to the kids about his need to arrange a radio ad and they reckoned they could do it for him! 24 hours later that we’re in a recording studio for the first time in their lives! You can imagine the excitement!”
Obviously delighted by their few minutes in the spotlight, I think it’s fair to say that the duo has a knack for voiceover work so they best prepare themselves for the big time next. Iain Stirling, Jack’s coming for your gig.
