Get excited – Ireland’s premier festival Electric Picnic has just became even more appealing.
The thousands heading to Picnic this year will be able to cool down, post-party, with a dip in the festival’s lake.
The new area – which has never opened to the public before now – will be located in the idyllic surroundings of Stradbally Hall estate, home to the popular festival since 2004.
According to the organisers, the man-made lake was formed in the 18th century by the ancestral owners of Stradbally Hall, the Cosby family.
Adults are invited to sample the beautiful water of the lake, as long as they are a competent swimmer. And kids can also get involved, but only when they’re accompanied by a responsible adult who can swim.
Electric Picnic will have lifeguards on duty at all times, to ensure everyone’s safety over the course of the weekend.
Opening times are as follows:
- Friday: 2pm -5pm FAMILIES ONLY / 5.30pm-7pm ADULTS ONLY
- Saturday: 10am-1pm FAMILIES ONLY / 1.30pm-7pm ADULTS ONLY
- Sunday: 10am-1pm FAMILIES ONLY / 1.30pm-7pm ADULTS ONLY
