Your Champions League TV guide for this Tuesday evening

James Fenton

We’re getting down to the business end of the Champions League and this evening there are a couple of crackers lined up on Irish TV.

Well, it might be a stretch to say that as the Chelsea v FC Porto tie seems all but dead, with the Blues taking a 2-0 advantage into tonight’s second leg. Still, if you want to run your eye over Thomas Tuchel’s Stamford Bridge revolution (5-2 defeat to West Brom notwithstanding), be sure to tune into Virgin Media Two for an 8pm kick-off.

There’s no arguing what the main event is this evening though as European giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain return to battle after last week’s epic encounter. This tie remains very much in the balance, with the French champions having secured a narrow 3-2 victory in Munich last time out. However, there’s no doubting the credentials of the current Champions League holders and even without their injured talisman Robert Lewandowski, few would bet against Munich turning this tie around.

Darragh Moloney will present coverage of Bayern v PSG on RTÉ 2 from 7.30pm with kick-off scheduled for 8pm. If you miss either of the games, you’ll get highlights on Virgin Media Two from 10.15pm.

Hold on to the armrest – it’s going to be a bumpy night.
