YouTube Looks Set To Become The New Netflix

clodagh

Gone are the days when you used to schedule your telly time and rush home from work or school just in time for the opening credits.

God forbid that you might miss an episode and have to listen to everyone in the office talk about that cliffhanger.

No, no, no. We are much more sophisticated these days.

Netflix has filled the TV gap in our lives, allowing us to watch a whole host of movies and shows whenever we feel like it.

Netflix has cemented binge-watching as a serious hobby, and now YouTube is looking to get in on the action.

The site famous for hosting videos such as Leave Britney Alone and Kevin Bit My Finger is on its way to start producing its own original content.

According to Silicon Republic, YouTube is about to spend a $100m budget on six new original shows that will be available to watch for FREE.
