Summer is here and there's events happening left, right and centre.
There's an array of exciting things happening in Limerick city from outdoor cinemas to unique exhibitions and everything in between.
I've compiled a list of the best Limerick events to check out this month:
1. St Mary's Cathedral Festival
The famous Limerick Cathedral celebrated 850 years last year and they are continuing the good cheer this year with tours, classical music and other events.
Currently, there's an incredible moon installation inside the building which is well worth popping in to see.
The Solar exhibition will be taking place in Newcastle West and will showcase a variety of paintings, poems, digital art and photography.
The free event is inspired by the sun, moon and the beauty of all nature and curated by Kathryn Crowley.
Opening hours: Tuesday 5pm - 7pm; Wednesday 4pm - 6pm; Thursday 4pm - 6pm & Saturday 10am - 4pm.
3. International Film Festival
Très Court International Film Festival is taking place in over 30 countries over the next month.
The international competition will show over 40 four-minute-long films. It will give you an insight into the best global audiovisual productions around the world.

There's a fantastic range of €5 lunch deals from participating traders, too.
5. Festival Of The Maigue
A celebration of the wonderful river Maigue.
There will be music and magic in the Croom Civic Centre at 8pm on Friday night. This will include traditional music, song, dance and poetry, as well a puppeteer.

6. Great Global Greyhound Walk
Limerick greyhound owners will gather as part of the Great Global Greyhound Walk annual event.
It sees greyhound owners from all over the world take part in a dog walking event that aims to promote the benefits of retired racing greyhounds as pets.

8. Spirit Of The City
This outdoor summer bash is taking place in Arthur's Quay Park and is all about showcasing the best of everything spirits, craft beers and artisan food.
It aims to celebrate the renewal of the economy in Limerick and the positivity felt by many local merchants, who will get to proudly showcase their excellent beers, gins, whiskeys, and food.
Musical acts such as UV5, Mickey Joe Harte, The Amazing Apples and Midnight Sons will be there, with comedy from Bernard Casey.
9. Kupala Night - Midsummer Night
Kupala Night is a Polish and Slavic tradition that celebrates midsummer night with artistic performances of folk dance and song as well as a range of activities.
There will be organised outdoor workshops, playing with clay, plaiting garlands, Slavic yoga, a fairytale tent as well as much more.
There are many legends and stories associated with the summer solstice, the most famous of which is the flower of ferns, which can only be seen on this night.

As part of Limerick’s Cruinniú na nÓg celebrations, The Hunt Museum will lend its beautiful gardens on the banks of River Shannon to a special screening of The Little Mermaid and The Greatest Showman.
