Explore Éire: You Can Listen To Irish Folklore During A Cocktail Workshop In Galway

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

There’s two things the Irish are known for – our fondness of the drink and telling a good story.

Combine the two and you’re onto a winner.

Luckily, you can do exactly that at America Village in Connemara… yes, it’s a real place.

You can listen to Irish folklore and learn how to properly mix cocktails while having a bit of craic – ideal!

Lead by Claire, a compounder of Spirits and Ireland’s first producer of cocktail & culinary bitters and tinctures, she will take you through what it takes to create great flavour.

Most of the ingredients that you’ll be using during the workshop are hand-picked and locally sourced.

You will learn the difference between tinctures, bitters and syrups and will be offered examples, smells and tastes of each. You will then learn how you can use these practically for cocktail, drink and culinary purposes.

While mixing, you’ll hear about America Village and the mythology and folklore surrounding it. You’ll learn about the landscape, the plants that grow there and be given the opportunity to immerse your senses in some of the scents and flavours of Connemara.

Of course, you’ll wrap up this amazing experience with some tasters to excite your senses.

Cheers to that!
