Explore Éire: You Can Now Tour Galway By Electric Scooter

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

One of the best ways to discover a city, learn about its hidden gems and hear its story is to do a walking tour.

Whenever I do a European break I book one immediately. It really gives you a feel for the area and it’s a helpful way to become familiar with getting around.

Travelling to a county for a weekend break should be no different – it gives you a whole new perspective.

If you’re not much of a walker, this brand new tour in Galway is the perfect alternative.

You can explore Galway City by electric scooter – beep, beep!

You’ll start at the Brite Store on Eyre Street, five minutes walk from Galway bus and train station.

“The tour then will take you along the waterways of Galway city, along the canals to the River Corrib. Galway City’s natural diversity competes with the most diverse natural habitats in the world with 58 different wildlife habitats within the city. Along the river, we will see the 16th century Menlo Castle and on returning to base we will stop off and try some specialist coffee and treats from our coffee partner Matt’s Sandwiches.”

Brite is Ireland’s first micro-mobility tour company. Well-known local celebrity and barman, Justin Browne, will be leading the tour group. He’s an award- winning cocktail and specialist coffee maker as well as being a champion hurler for Donegal County.

This sounds like serious craic, deffo one to book for your next trip to Galway!
