One of my ULTIMATE bucket list experiences is to ride in a hot air balloon.
Now, I may not get to ride one just yet, but this weekend I could be totally immersed in them and watch them float above me, which is almost just as good.
Hot air balloons are super pretty so this occasion is definitely going to be an Instagram haven, sure every snap you take will look just like your desktop screensaver.
Starting this Saturday and running until 28 September, the 48th Irish Hot Air Ballooning Championships will take place in Birr.
The event is the biggest of its kind in Ireland and the longest running national ballooning event in the world.
The event will take place in Birr Castle Gardens and Science Centre.
Admission is €5, such a steal!
Tickets include access to the Science Centre, gardens, Great Telescope and Treehouse Adventure Area as well as activities centred around the launches.
Launches are weather dependant and may be cancelled at short notice. However if the balloons are unable to launch due to adverse weather, this ticket can be used another evening between 23-28 September.
