After five months in business, Pure Flakey has shut up shop.
If you’re heading down to Marina Market anytime soon for some delicious baked goods, you may be disappointed to notice that a certain bakery has closed down. Pure Flakey took to Instagram over the weekend to announce their closure, with no reopening date in sight. In their candid caption, they say this of the decision to close:
“It is with a heavy heart we have to let everyone know that Pure Flakey will close on Sunday 8th of May at 8pm for the foreseeable future.
Know that we do not make this decision lightly and we are beyond devastated that we can’t continue to provide you with all the Flakey goodness. Trust us, the cruffins will miss you too!”
Pure Flakey opened in December 2021, the sister business to coffee company Alchemy. In their short lifespan they made quite an impact, winning Yay Cork’s award for Best Sausage Rolls.

While there’s no word on when we might see them again, there is some hope. Pure Flakey ended their closure announcement with these words:
“Hopefully we’ll see you again some time soon lads.”
We wish the Pure Flakey team all the best and hope they’re able to reopen at Marina Market, or elsewhere, in the not too distant future.
