Pumpkin spice bagels are a thing, and we’re intrigued

Fiona Frawley

Listen, it’s the season for it. We’ll take pumpkin spice aaaaaanything.

What started out as a caffeinated drink in little known coffee chain Starbucks has become a cultural phenomenon. Pretty much every cafe you visit has their own variation of the seasonal bev, and it’s so much more than just a drink these days. You can get pumpkin spice candles, pumpkin spice shower gel, and now even pumpkin spice bagels. PSB’s, we’ll call them. If you’re into that kind of thing, you’ll have a chance to nab yourself a packet in select Irish supermarkets for the next two weeks.

After a successful run in the UK last October, New York Bakery Co are bringing their PSB’s to Irish shops. The timing couldn’t be better, I feel the pumpkin spice hysteria is more prevalent than ever this year.

These limited edition bad boys are infused with all the essential pumpkin spice flavours, including warming  cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. They’re especially tasty when layered with cream cheese, maple syrup, blueberries and even an extra sprinkling of cinnamon if you’re feeling brave, for that authentic New York ‘fall’ flavour. If you’re gonna do it like…. do it right.

You’ll be able to pick yourself up a packet at Dunnes Stores, SuperValu or Centra. ‘Tis the season after all.
