The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a recall of a popular hot sauce.
A certain batch of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce has been recalled due to the potential risk of the sauce’s contents exploding after the bottle is opened.
The recall applies to 740ml bottles of the Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce, batch number H9TMKA 44 33, which has a best before date of March 2021.
A statement from the FSAI reads: “The above batch of Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce is being recalled due to the risk of the contents exploding once the bottle is opened. This poses a risk of hot chili sauce irritating eyes or skin.”
The recall was issued on Friday, November 29 by the FSAI.
