This converted camper van in Donegal is a foodie’s dream

Fiona Frawley

If you find yourself in and around the heritage town of Ramelton, you need to hit up Foodie Campers.

A converted caravan located on Ramelton quay with creative dishes that incorporate the best of local produce, this spot is not to be missed.

Donegal seafood in particular is so well showcased across the menu – just feast your eyes on these gorge panko breaded haddock tacos:

Or everyone’s fave, lobster roll on a sweet buttery brioche bun.

Meat lovers are also very well catered for as these guys can do some seriously impressive things with pork – if you’re a fan of an Asian twist, this crispy pork belly with chilli peanut rayu salad should hit the spot:

Or for a heartier feed there’s this this variation with seared scallops and chorizo bean stew. Ideal for the colder months.

Some spots excel exclusively in one or the other of the the sweet or savoury department – that’s not the case for this food truck. The desserts look equally stunning with homemade tarts, deliciously rich brownies and custard crumbles. Sure where else would you be going?

Foodie Campers is open from Friday – Sunday at Ramelton Quay and definitely worth hitting up for all foodies. You’ll want to order one of everything!
