Domino’s Are Testing A Driver-less Delivery Service And We Hope It Comes To Ireland

AmyBell

Our world is constantly growing in the digital and tech age and sometimes it can be hard to keep up with it all.

But word on the street is that Domino’s Pizza are testing a driver-less delivery service and it sounds exciting.

The popular pizza company have teamed up with car company, Ford, in the US to see if the new system works and is preferred for with their customers.

What exactly is the driver-less delivery?

Well in the Michigan state, some people’s pizza deliveries are arriving in specially designed cars that are fitted with a camera and radars that can pretty much drive itself right to your door. For the moment, an engineer is at the wheel controlling the car to see how the test runs go.

But Ford are hoping to look a new ways to meet their promise to have self-driving cars on the road by 2021. Can you imagine?

Customers then have to enter a four digit code in order to open up the special heated compartment in the car where their delicious delivery awaits them.

Mind = blown!

Have a look at it for yourself

This does mean that you have to leave your house to go to the car and get your delivery, but we think it would be pretty damn cool.

We hope it gets launched over on our side of the pond!

What do you think?
