Newstalk Has Confirmed That George Hook Has Been Suspended

Newstalk has confirmed that presenter George Hook has been suspended in light of comments he made about rape on his show last week. 

The 76-year-old caused uproar by seeming to imply that victims of rape were partly to blame for the crime. He issued an apology earlier in the week. 

The station has confirmed that the process regarding the High Noon presenter’s comments is ongoing. 

Newstalk can confirm that George Hook has been suspended from his duties at the station. The process re: his comments last week is ongoing.
