This €20 homemade churro maker at Aldi is the perfect Christmas gift

Sarah Finnan

Warm, sugar-coated pieces of dough usually paired with chocolate. Are you drooling yet? I am.

The thought of a  homemade churro maker is almost too good to be true.

Having discovered my love for the sweet treat on my travels in Spain, readjusting to life in Ireland sans churros was tough.

While there are various places around the country, mostly in Dublin, serving up the sweet treat, the thought of homemade churros, whenever you want, is hard to top.

Recognising not only our sweet tooth but our love for a good bargain as well, Aldi is now selling a Churro Maker for only €19.99.

What a bargain.

Made by Ambiano, the machine is a somewhat healthier alternative to the traditional method of deep-frying the dough in oil.

According to the Aldi website, you can whip some up in just a few minutes. The product description goes on to say “it makes 4 delicious but healthy churros at once.”

“Instead of frying them, this device will bake them fat-free.”

It’s even non-stick and everything so there’s minimal effort involved in both making and cleaning up.

A win-win.

Available in three different colours -red, white, and black, it also comes with a 36-month warranty period.

Gift it to someone else and if you’re lucky you’ll get to enjoy the fruits of its labour too. Or just go ahead and gift it to yourself because who wouldn’t want a homemade churro maker all to themselves. No judgement.
