Sharron

You may want to re-think your weekend plans…

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Wind Warning for counties Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry.

It’ll be in effect from 6pm on Sunday to 9am on Monday.

According to the weather forecaster, we can expect some very strong west, veering northwest winds to affect the western and southwestern coastal counties of Ireland late on Sunday.

They’ll continue through the night into Monday morning with the winds reaching speeds of up to 65km per hour and gusts of up to 110km per hour.

The strongest winds are expected in the exposed hilly and coastal areas with very high seas along the coasts too.
