The Ultimate Food Guide To The Beautiful Seaside Town Of Greystones

Alan Fisher

This beautiful little seaside town has a lot to offer when it comes to food.

You probably know it from doing your Bray to Greystones cliff walk and nipping into The Happy Pear so you can post it on Insta. I’m not hating by the way, I’ve done it plenty of times myself.

I love The Happy Pear, but let me tell you, Greystones has other options you’ve got to check out.

Actually, there’s loads of quality options considering it’s such a small town.

Here, in all its beauty, is the ultimate food guide to Greystones:

1) Burrito Box

I’ve said it before and I’ll bloody say it again, this is the nicest burrito you’ll get in Ireland.

A few young lads set up a horse box around the back of the Beach House and starting whipping up the most mouthwatering food.

The Greystones Burrito is what I go for, with guac obv, and the loaded sweet potato fries.

You can thank me later.

2) Chakra

One of the two Indian restaurants Greystones has to offer.

If you asked a local they will tell you that this place is the top dog for food in Greystones and to be fair, it’s insane.

I’m not generally a lamb eater but the lamb shank here is a must.

I feel like this place is becoming a bit outdated with the newer options and it’s definitely one of the more pricey places but still, the food is fantastic.

3) Bochellis

If you’re feeling a little Italian on your visit to the Stones then look no further. The pizza here is unbelievable and they are huge.

If it’s a sunny day, make sure you sit out the front and enjoy a pint while watching the world go by.

4) Daata Tandoori

Second of the Indian restaurants and arguably my preferred option.

The original sits on Bray seafront and they just opened this one a couple of years ago.

I may be biased because I am obsessed with the Afghani Chicken dish, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a nicer dish in my life.

5) Las Tapas

Tapas places kind of piss me off in general, but I have to admit that Las Tapas serves up some decent food.

I don’t like the way you have to order about eight dishes at 10 quid a pop and you’re still hungry after.

Anyway, the important thing is that the food is good and if tapas is your style, then you’ve got to give it a go.

It’s a cute date spot, too.

6) The Hungry Monk

A little bit of fine dining heading your way.

If you’re unsure on what type of food you’re after, hit this place as there’s loads of different options to pick from and they serve some mean seafood.

7) The Happy Pear

I really couldn’t write this list without them, but I’ll keep it short.

Head down first thing in the morning when the queues haven’t gathered and stock up on fancy porridge, a toastie and delicious coffee.

The lads have done incredible, and single handedly led the health food revolution in Ireland. Sound.

8) Mango Tree

Okay, this isn’t a great option if you’re just floating around Greystones as it’s only a takeaway.

But if you have the chance to get a takeaway, you have to get Mango Tree.

It’s my favourite Thai takeaway and I strictly get the red Thai curry.

Mmm.

9) Jokers

Yes, this is a chipper.

If you’re looking for a quick bite then wrap your hands around a tasty roll.

Chips, cheese, bacon, garlic mayo stuffed into a white roll. What more could you want?
