Have you tried the Tayto Pizza in Cork yet?

James Fenton

Tayto and pizza, together at last.

Ireland loves Tayto and Ireland loves pizza. Neither of these facts can be denied and it was only a matter of time before somebody decided to put the two together to make Tayto pizza.

These culinary geniuses (genii?) can be found at La Tana Pizzeria on Barrack Street in Cork. Taking to Instagram on Friday, the popular pizza spot shared a video of their concoction, explaining that The La Tayto pizza is made with a garlic butter base, Irish ham (or a veggie option) a double layer of mozzarella cheese and not one but TWO bags of Tayto.

You can have a gawk at the creation in all its glory in the short clip below…

Interesting to say the least. What camp are you in? The one containing people who’ll be on the first train to Cork (if restrictions allow) to sink their teeth into this crispy masterpiece? Or is this combination the last thing you’d want to pass you lips? Whatever the case, you have to hand it to La Tana for their creativity.

Let us know what you make of La Tana’s Tayto pizza in the comments.
