Galway

Scrumdiddly’s has opened a Galway venue and now I really want ice-cream

Sarah Finnan

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream.

If you’re one of those people who thinks that ice-cream is reserved only for the summer months, then I hate to tell you but we can’t be friends.

Ice-cream is a year-round treat in my books and should be enjoyed regardless of the weather.

Lest I remind you that we live in Ireland and the sun only makes an appearance but once a year. Far too limiting in terms of ice-cream consumption.

The Dublin favourite, already with three other branches – two in Dublin and one in Kilkenny, has only gone and given the people what they want by opening another branch; this time out west in Galway.

What a time to be alive.

Having tried the Bueno Bliss and another hodgepodge concoction involving lots of chocolate and peanut butter, there are still so many other options to sample.

I do love a classic 99 though, simple but delicious.

Posting about the new opening on Instagram, I’m surprised the city of tribes hasn’t gone into meltdown…excuse the pun.

The new branch opened last week on Middle street, directly opposite Dough Bros. So get your pizza fix and then head across the road for dessert.

Yum.
