About a 15-minute drive from Galway city lies the coastal village of Barna. It's a picturesque spot to head for an evening spin and if you've just got paid there's plenty to splash out on at O'Grady's On The Pier.
For the sirloin steak or the rack of lamb, you'll get a handful of change out of €30 while a cold seafood platter will cost around €25.
If money is still tight after paying your rent and bills, the fresh Killary mussels are a cheaper option at around €17.
This Salthill spot will allow you to spoil yourself on payday but won't leave you with that guilty feeling that comes when you spend an absolute fortune.
An 8oz fillet of beef is the most expensive item on the menu at around €25 while a bottle of the house wine will cost just over €20.
Ard Bia At Nimmo's
Looking out over the River Corrib in the city, there's no better spot to be on a fine summer's evening.
The menu for summer 2019 features a ribeye steak for €30 as well as a West Cork monkfish for €29.
There's also a nice little selection of craft beers on offer to wash it all down.
Nothing will make you feel more fancy on payday than splashing out on some French cuisine.
€22 will get you a starter and a main on the 'Menu Montmartre' or if you're feeling particularly extravagant, you can choose the 'Menu Champs-Elysées' for €33, which will get you a fillet of beef or a half Irish lobster.

Located close to Shop Street, this spot is perfect for those who like their food straight from the ocean.
Set dinner menus are available for €42.50 or €47.95 and with occasional live jazz music, it's the perfect setting to eat like a king or queen.
Owned by a New Zealander and her Carlow husband, Kai is appropriately the Maori word for food.
The restaurant prides itself on high-quality food and a homely interior and the menu has something for whatever your tastes, be it meat, fish or a veggie option.
