Space-mad youngster Adam King has had a pretty good few days as of late, receiving several messages from some of his idols. An idea headed up by Irish astronautical engineer Dr Norah Patten, she organised the whole thing as a way to "give something back to our little space hero".

Enlisting the help of several of her own friends, colleagues and contacts in the industry, each one recorded a short video message to Adam with a robotics instructor, a program and discipline scientist and the vice president of research and innovation at NASA amongst those to get involved in the project.

Sharing their sincere thanks to each and every person who took the time to say hi to Adam from space (metaphorically speaking), Adam's family tweeted to say:

"Thank you to all our space friends across @NASA, @csa_asc & @esa for saying #HiAdamFromSpace! It means so much. More to come this week - we will continue to take you on #AstroAdam's journey to CAPCOM with us as some of our space friends answer a few of your Qs..stay tuned!"
