There’s a new coffee container to hit up in Tralee

Fiona Frawley

2021 will forever go down as the year of the shipping container.

In the last year, enough container coffee shops have popped up in Ireland to block the Suez Canal for a second time, and we’re not complaining. Our need for coffee is a constant, daily part of life after all.

We’re always on the hunt for the newest place to grab a flattie, and our latest discovery is Pikup, a new spot just outside Tralee.

Pikup just opened up last week outside O’Donnells Bar & Restaurant in Mounthawk  and is the ideal spot to hit up for a coffee if you’re on the way into Tralee. Need a treat too? They’ve got you covered with baked delights from The Tastebuds, a Kerry based bakery whose Instagram has led me to start planning my imaginary wedding just so I can get one of their cakes. They can do serious things with buttercream.

They’ve also got sandwiches if you’re more in the mood for something savoury and of course, the all-important puppacinos. Sure you couldn’t be leaving the doggos out in this day and age.

Definitely worth hitting up if you’re in the Killarney area, from 8-6 Monday-Friday and 9-6 on weekends.
