Beaucoup Family – The Irish-owned clothing brand that’s donating all August profits to charity

James Fenton

Beaucoup Family, an Irish-owned clothing brand, have announced that they will be donating 100% of profits for the remainder of August to charity.

Born in April during the Covid-19 lockdown, Beaucoup Family was set up by friends Daragh Cogley, Matthew Oppermann and Jack Scrivener. The company boasts a streetwear collection of t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts which are embroidered with designs of popular artists such as Cardi B, Travis Scott, Tupac and Drake.

Despite its tender age, the fledgling business has dedicated itself to donating all profits for the remainder of August to MASI (the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland) and Black Lives Matter. They explain this decision by saying: “In a society now largely run by corporations, rather than people, we felt it our responsibility to not only fight for change as people who run a company, but as a company in itself. We strive for a future where companies exist not only for profit but to make the world a better place.”

A noble gesture for sure and you can have a look at what Beaucoup Family have to offer below…

We spoke to Daragh about the company’s roots and he told us that, like many businesses that have been set up in 2020, it stemmed the trio having a bit of extra time on their hands earlier this year. “Originally we set it up as something to do during lockdown,” Daragh told us. “We all work in digital marketing and thought it would be cool to actually market our own products for a change. We all love hip-hop music and one of our best friends, Jon Kelly, is an artist so he’s been doing the designs for us.”

Speaking about the charity aspect, Daragh said that “it came about recently as we started to turn a profit. We all have full-time jobs so we don’t really need any extra money at the moment. So we thought it only right to try and put Beaucoup Family to good use and give to those who need it, namely MASI and BLM for now.”

Talk about putting your creative talents to good use. You can browse through Beaucoup Family’s range of products via their website here or have a scroll through their Instagram at this link. Prices range from €25 for t-shirts and €35 for sweatshirts and hoodies.
