People in Dublin binge drink more prevalently than those in any other part of Ireland according to new CSO figures.
The latest Regional SDGs, which were released today, found that 19% of Dubliners drink more than six units of alcohol per week, placing them ahead of people in the Border Counties where the figure is 16%.
The results also found that 86% of Dubliners over the age of 15 drink alcohol generally, the highest figure in the country. Next were the west and south west where 79% of people drink alcohol. Interestingly, the west also had the lowest proportion of binge drinkers with just 12%.
