Is this the most beautiful home in Ireland?
Riverdance star Michael Flatley has put his palatial home on the market again and we are absolutely drooling over it.
Flatley purchased Castle Hyde in Fermoy, Co Cork, back in 1999 for €4m and reportedly spent a whopping €30m renovating it.
Nestled on 150 acres on the banks of the Blackwater, the Irish Country Home has been described as one of the ‘most beautiful’ homes in the country.
And we can see why.
The listing explains that the home was decorated ‘not to be a museum but a family home’ – although we don’t reckon we’d be leaving a cup of tea down without a coaster ourselves.
The Master Bedroom alone spans over 3,000 square feet.
Over the years guests at Castle Hyde have included Michael Jackson, Cliff Richard, Maureen O’Hara and The Chieftains.
Fred Astaire was also a frequent visitor to Castle Hyde in the 1920’s, according to the Sothebys listing.
The grounds boast perfectly manicured lawns, a golf course, croquet court, a garden gazebo and a riverside fishing deck and boat slip-way and a tennis court, so it’s fair to say you’d never be bored.
The mansion was put up for sale back in 2015 for €20 million, but has now been listed at €12.5m. Bargain.
