PICS: Kerry Garda stations inundated with birthday cards for 10-year-old ‘honorary Garda’

Killarney and Tralee Garda stations have been inundated with birthday cards for local boy Sean Kearney, who has been given the title of ‘honorary Garda.’

Sean is a beneficiary of An Garda Síochána’s Little Blue Heroes Foundation and recently he asked for as many people as possible to send him a card for his 10th birthday, which falls on May 5.

The people did not disappoint, as evidenced by this photo on the Garda Instagram account. The post is captioned ‘Garda Gillian Mac Eoin and Mary Gardiner with a sample of the post that has arrived to Killarney and Tralee Garda station for our little blue hero, Sean Kearney. Sean has asked that as many people send him a 10th birthday card to help celebrate on May 5. We have been overwhelmed with the public’s support! Thank you.’

Both officers had teamed up to spread the word of Sean’s request and it seems the huge effort by everyone involved has paid off. On behalf of all the Lovin team, happy birthday, Sean!
