The brightest comet of the 21st century will be visible over Irish skies over the coming days.
Neowise first arrived in Irish skies on Monday and is visible to the naked eye. It’s described as the brightest comet since Hale-Bopp a quarter of a century ago and has already been captured by night sky enthusiasts around Ireland…
This was the sight which greeted me at 2am outside Cookstown last night, comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE rising tail-first over the trees, a sight I shall never forget! this comet should be on the news for a positive story! https://t.co/19Wt2BjIl1 #cometneowise #cookstown pic.twitter.com/OahyPmneBN

Neowise is visible all month around Ireland and the best time to catch it is at the moment between 11pm and 1am. Since arriving on Monday, it has been rising a half an hour earlier every night and will be visible all night from this coming Monday.
If you’re interested in catching a glimpse one of the nights, you can track Neowise’s movements here.
