Having a partner who bottles up their feelings can be tough. You want to help them, but they won't tell you exactly what the problem is.
Well, according to Women's Health, getting your other half to open up could be simpler than you think.
After consulting some therapists, they came up with these three phrases to get the ball rolling.
1. "Let's go for a walk."
Going for a walk is a great way to avoid distractions, and there's less pressure to make eye contact when you're talking about emotional issues.
2. "That sounds awful. What happened next?"
It's important to empathise with your partner rather than offering solutions or judging them straight off the bat.
3. "What did you mean when you said you felt ___?"
Special projects editor at Men's Health, Dean Stattmann, says you should ask about something specific your other half mentioned. That will show you've been paying attention and you care.
Now for ye!
