Every now and then, new terms seem to crop up in the world of romance, and online dating in particular.
From 'ghosting', to 'catfishing' and 'marleying', we weren't sure how much more random these terms could become.
However, Plenty of Fish's dating expert Shannon Smith told Business Insider that one of the latest dating behaviour terms we need to be aware of is 'flexting'.
Flexting involves an individual boasting about themselves online before meeting their date in real life.
Data from Plenty of Fish revealed that 47% of single people have experienced someone bragging to them via texts to big themselves up.
A total of 63% of women had experienced flexting from someone they were chatting to online, in comparison to just 38% of men.
It's safe to say 'flexting' could be one of the most cringeworthy dating terms we have heard to date.
Realistically, your true colours are going to shine through when you eventually meet up with each other.
So it's probably better to keep the 'flexting' to a minimum, especially if you want to avoid any possible disappointment...
