University Concert Hall Limerick is showing a screening of Home Alone tomorrow

One of the ultimate festive movies, it’s not really Christmas without Kevin, Buzz and the gang.

It may only be November, but I’d happily watch Home Alone at any time of the year. It just never gets old.

First released back in 1990, (making it almost 30 years old holy moly!) it has come to be synonymous with Christmas.

Telling the story of Kevin McCallister and his family, it recounts his adventures when he is mistakenly left behind from a family trip to Paris.

Giving an eight-year-old free reign in a house, unsupervised, is a recipe for disaster and so naturally chaos ensues.

If nothing else, the long list of insults shared between siblings and cousins is cause for great entertainment. A personal favourite includes “you’re what the French call les incompetents”. A very cultured insult altogether.

University Concert Hall in Limerick will be showing a special screening of the beloved classic tomorrow at 3pm. Tickets can be gotten here.

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content as the saying goes.

And I can think of no better way to spend a Sunday than by watching Home Alone.

Don’t forget the popcorn.
