SEEK Contemporary Urban Arts Festival will make a colourful return to Dundalk next month.
Kicking off on August 1st, SEEK Contemporary Urban Arts Festival is gearing up for a colourful return to Dundalk next month. Due to run for a total of eight days, the town will turn into an outdoor art gallery of sorts - one that can be enjoyed by both locals and visitors.
A number of largescale street art exhibits have been programmed for public spaces in the heart of the city with SEEK 2020 promising to carry on the successful legacy of last year's festival. Now in its second year, this year features an exciting line-up of national and international artists including Aches, Omin, Claire Prouvost, Friz and Chula Mente to name but a few.
According to organisers, the town centre will be transformed into a massive artistic canvas to illustrate more of Dundalk's unique history with the inspiration coming from the locality's rich heritage. Exhibits will highlight figures and themes including Dorothy McArdle, Sailor Sharkey, Paul Kavanagh and Brigid of Faughart.

Speaking ahead of this year's festival, Barry Finnegan, one of the organisers said:
“I'm delighted that we can proceed with the SEEK Festival this year given the current climate. It was a great success in 2019 and we hope to build on this to achieve more this year.
As it is an outdoor event it can be safely enjoyed by all and I know people will be impressed with the artists and themes that we are showcasing this year.”
