Planning a trip to Achill? Add this horsebox cafe to your list

Fiona Frawley

With its dream-like sandy beaches, epic cliff walks and cosy pubs, it’s no surprise Achill is one of Ireland’s favourite destinations for a cheeky staycay.

Like really, if you haven’t got a snap of you in your dry robe at Keem Bay, are you even Irish?

There’s no better spot for those looking to appreciate everything this country has to offer, and discover incredible beauty spots that will wow you and look great on your insta feed. And after you’ve done all that, you can hit up the Salt Dock Coffee Truck for a wind down flattie.

Located outside the Achill Island Sea Salt Factory with plenty of seating (including these gorge pods for when our Irish summer actually becomes Irish), this is the ideal spot to stop off at during a day of exploring.

If you’re a speciality coffee lover you’ll be delighted to hear they pour delicious single origin Carrow Coffee, hailing from a small roastery in Sligo, as well as the all important GREY Oatly Oat Milk (if you’re an oat stan, you know).

They also have plenty of treats, delish iced coffee options and some premium dog watching, if that’s your thing. Definitely worth adding to your Achill to-do list!
