WATCH: The Trailer For The New ‘Superbad’ Is Getting Rave Reviews From Movie Fans

James Fenton

In the mid-late 2000s, movie fans were treated to a spate of uproarious comedies which involved Seth Rogen in one way or another. From a supporting role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin to playing the leading man in Knocked Up and Pineapple Express to writing the enduring classic Superbad, the Canadian’s fingerprints were all over some of the most loved comedy movies of the era.

After a few duds in recent years, Rogen comes back with a bang this summer as a producer of Good Boys, which is being called ‘Superbad for 12-year-olds’ but don’t let the comparison fool you as you won’t want to be bringing your darling niece or nephew to the cinema to see it.

The trailer for the film was released yesterday and sure enough, it contains all the crude hallmarks of the movie that shot Jonah Hill and Michael Cera to fame. Just imagine the pair’s characters taken back a few years to sixth grade (sixth class to you and me) and you’ve pretty much got it.

Rogen is joined on production duties by his Superbad partner-in-crime Evan Goldberg and viewers should recognise a slightly older-looking Jacob Tremblay who achieved rave reviews for his role in 2015’s Room.

Check out the clip below but if you’re in work or around relatives it might be best to put your headphones in. Good Boys will be released in Irish cinemas on August 16.
