Galway City Mayor Noel Larkin and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti have met over the past eight months and secured an amazing deal between Norwegian Airlines, Wild Atlantic Way and Galway International Airport located at Carnmore.
Mayor Garcetti, otherwise known as one of the more eccentric mayors in the United States and the Mayor behind the biggest street party hosted by Steve Aoki is said to be extremely excited for this new flight path being operated by Norwegian Airlines.
Mr Larkin has said that not only is this the biggest news story to come out of Galway City in a long time 'also great news for the entire Wild Atlantic Way and will only strengthen tourism for the Galway 2020 year.
With Norwegian Airlines running flights four times per week between Galway and Los Angeles, the influx of tourists to the west is said to increase by 20.17% over the next 12 months.
Spokesperson for the largest hotel in Galway said: "The Connacht Hotel is thrilled with the news and we welcome all Americans with open arms and hope to spot one or two celebrities", while Mrs Gallagher from Ace Hotel Los Angeles said that "we will need to start producing more beer if the Irish are going to invade.
"It's fantastic news for all of us and I for one can't wait to see the Emerald Isle and walk on the same boardwalk Michael Flatley has danced all over".
With the news came 12 foot permanent letter signs of GalwayHood erected across the city and a new website www.galwayhood.com which for TODAY ONLY is selling return flights for €9.99 to L.A.
We can't wait for this to launch and will be on the first flight over! lol.
