A 9-year-old girl has died following a road collision yesterday.
Gardaí are currently investigating the fatal road traffic collision between a car and two cyclists, a girl aged 9, Bridget Ward and a boy aged 7, Patrick Ward.
The collision occurred at approximately 11:55am on Easter Sunday, on the R358 Ballinasloe to Ahascragh Road Co Galway.
Bridget Ward was later pronounced dead in hospital, where her brother, Patrick Ward remains in a serious condition.
