A Group Of Deer Have Been Shot Dead At A Kids’ Santa Experience In Wicklow

kaylawalsh

Three deer from a kids’ Santa experience are believed to have been shot and stolen by poachers in Wicklow.

The deer were part of the Santa’s Journey event at Djouce Golf Club in Roundwood.

Last weekend a member of staff from the golf club went to the enclosed pen the deer were kept in to discover they were missing.

Trails of blood were left around the pen, The Independent reports.

The incident is thought to have taken place late on Friday night or early Saturday morning.

It’s understood that deer are generally sold to game dealers for between €30 and €50.
