A man in his 40s has died after being hit by a car in an early morning collision in Arklow, Wicklow.
The Irish Independent report that the incident occurred at around 2.20am this morning on the Coolgreany Road.
The man, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
The road has been closed for a full forensic examination and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Arklow Garda Station on 0402 26320.
