A Meath Motorbike Racer Has Died Following Crash At Isle Of Man TT

A motorcyclist from Meath, Alan Bonner (33), has died following a crash at the Isle of Man TT, an annual motorbike race on the island.

Alan Bonner from Stamullen was involved in an accident at the 33rd Milestone on the Mountain section, BBC report.

Bonner was a highly experienced racer who first competed in the famous bike race in 2014.

Race organisers ACU Events Ltd said they wished to “pass on their deepest sympathy” to his family and friends.

Alan is now the third fatality of this year’s race, which claimed the lives of an English and Dutch rider during the week.

“ACU Events Ltd regrets to announce that Alan Bonner, 33, from County Meath in the Republic of Ireland died this afternoon during a qualifying session at the Isle of Man TT Races,” race organisers said.

“He was the fastest ever TT rider from the Republic of Ireland with a lap of 127.090mph which he achieved in 2015.

“ACU Events Ltd wishes to pass on its deepest sympathy to Alan’s partner Gemma and his family and friends.”

Thirty-two racers have died at the event over the past 10 years.
