Darragh Berry

On Monday morning, we told you how Met Éireann had issued a snow-ice weather warning for over half of the country.

Is February too late to be getting snow? Absolutely, but that’s Irish weather for you.

Well now, they have announced that a status yellow weather warning for snow-ice is being issued for the whole of Ireland and it will be in place for all of Tuesday.

They stated that: “Snow showers likely to give accumulations of less than 3cm on Tuesday. The showers most frequent in the west and north of the country. Slippery roads and paths due to accumulation of ice on untreated surfaces.”

It was issued at mid-day on Monday and will be put in place from 4am on Tuesday morning until 11:59 on Tuesday night.

As well as this, Gardaí have released a road warning for those who are thinking about travelling in these weather conditions.

Stay safe out there if you do have to venture outside in that weather.
