Aer Lingus has removed its change fees, saying that the charge will not apply for flights booked for March, April and May.

From 3pm today, the airline will not charge customers who wish to change their flight destination within these three months.

if there is a fare difference between the two flights, this will still apply.

A spokesperson for the airline said in a statement today, “We’re updating our systems to extend our flexible change policy to existing bookings.

“From 15:00 GMT today, online bookings made before 06 March for travel in March, April or May will not be subject to change fees. Fare difference may apply.”

They added, “We understand that many of our guests’ travel plans are uncertain at the present time, and we appreciate your patience while we update our systems to allow for this policy to take effect.”

Customers who have booked flights within these three months will be able to use the ‘Manage My Trip’ online tool to change their destination.

Originally, Aer Lingus removed their change fee for customers who booked from March 6 onwards but has now been extended to all customers who have Aer Lingus flights booked within this time.
