Aer Lingus Customers Warned Over Scam Email Offering Cheap Flights

Kiara Keane

People are being warned over scam emails promoting discount Aer Lingus flights for just €10.

The emails explain that the airline is “celebrating an amazing 80 years in the industry” and that the user has “been selected among a few other customers to receive a special treatment on your next trip with Aer Lingus”.

The airline confirmed to Dublin Live that the emails are a scam and aren’t connected to them in any way.

One of the fake emails reads, “We’re providing you, and just a few others, with the chance to fly for less with us, any time in the next year, thanks to an exclusive and very limited promotion.

“For the reduced price of 10 euro, you could soon be on your way [with] a loved on to whatever destination you desire. It’s up to you. From Christmas in New York to summer in Spain, there are so many places to go.”

It then asks readers to follow a fraudulent link for more information, explaining they only have 48 hours to claim the “exclusive offer”.

Aer Lingus also confirmed to a customer via Twitter, “This is spam. Please don’t engage with this.”
