When you get your hands on these stamps for the first time, you’ll probably think twice about sticking it on the letter.

These are very cool, so it’s understandable if you back out at the last minute and put them in your keep-sake box in the cupboard.

An Post has announced on Thursday that they release two new stamps which recognise the life and achievements of both Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela.

It was designed by Dublin-based studio Aad, and shows Luther King at the ‘March on Washington’ while Mandela is making a speech in Soweto in the early 90s.

Luther King was an activist and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Moment and is most famous for his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech.

Mandela, was an behind the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa and spent 27 years in jail as a political prisoner before being released in 1990 and going on to become the first black president of South Africa in ’94.

Both stamps are intended for international mail.
