Exclusion zones are set to be introduced around hospitals and GP practices to prevent further abortion protests.
As first reported by Independent.ie, the government has confirmed the move, but it is unclear if there will be legislation to enforce it.
It follows the picketing at Holles Street, Coombe, and Rotunda Hospitals by people displaying 7 ft tall posters of embryos and foetuses.
The Rotunda has been tweeting to warn women attending the hospital about the images.
To anyone entering or leaving the Hospital, a warning that there is an anti-abortion group adjacent to the front entrance, displaying posters that may be distressing. Gardai have been notified. Please be mindful in the area.
