The body of an Irish man has been recovered in the Netherlands following a tragic drowning incident.
The 28-year-old is believed to have gotten into difficulty after going for a late night swim in Egmond aan Zee in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to The Irish Independent, the man (who has yet to be named publicly) was working as a scientist and was in the area to attend a symposium.
It’s understood that he had attended a party earlier in the night and police are treating his death as an accident.
