A Detective Garda narrowly escaped serious injury last night after a shot was fired over his head in Co. Kildare last night.
The Irish Independent is reporting that the incident occurred as Gardaí pursued a black Audi car suspected to have been occupied by members of a burglary gang.
It’s thought that the car with a partial registration of 151 G has been involved in burglaries in the Cork and Tipperary area.
Last night, Gardaí spotted the car in the Monasterevin area of Kildare at around 9.30pm and pursued it to Larch Hill where the front seat passenger got out and fired a shot that went over the detective’s head.
