Talk about a traffic jam!

A double decker bus was safely removed from under a bridge on Church Road in Cork last night after becoming wedged.

The bus had been on the 220 Ovens-to-Carrigaline route but the driver took a wrong turn onto Church Road at about 11.15pm last night, according to The Irish Times.

According to the publication, passengers were safely evacuated from the vehicle and nobody was injured.

The road was closed off by Gardaí for a brief period while the situation was examined but has since reopened.

Engineers have confirmed that there is no significant structural damage to the bridge.
