Bus Éireann Strike ‘Committed To Conclusion in 24 Hours’

katedemolder

As reported yesterday, both unions and management at Bus Éireann, met together yesterday at the Workplace Relations Commission in an attempt to come to some sort of an arrangement to end the now 18-day-long strike that’s gripped rural Ireland.

No such arrangement was made, meaning that both parties are once again meeting today in the capital, in attempts to come to some sort of close.

According to The Journal, union boss Dermot O’Leary took to Twitter to say that both parties were “committed to reaching conclusion over the next 24 hours”.

It is understood that for the company to move forward, 120 driving jobs at the company would have to be cut.

The talks are expected to recommence at around 10am this morning.
